Open Access Publishing. Fully open access — every article is freely available worldwide upon publication under CC BY 4.0. Authors retain full copyright and grant JMLPH the right of first publication only.
No Article Processing Charges (Before 1 June 2026). We do not charge submission fees, peer-review fees, or APCs for articles submitted before 1 June 2026. From 1 June 2026 onwards, a modest £70 publication charge applies to accepted articles only. Authors from low-income and lower-middle-income countries (World Bank classification) are automatically exempt.
Rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review. Every manuscript is evaluated by at least one national and one international expert. Author and reviewer identities are withheld from each other; decisions rest solely on scientific merit, methodological quality, and ethical soundness.
Efficient Editorial Process (typical timings).
Initial editorial assessment: 5–7 working days
Peer review: 3–4 weeks
Editorial decision: 1–2 weeks after reviews are in
Revision deadlines: 30–60 days depending on the extent of revisions required
Multiple Publication Formats. Articles are published in PDF, XML, and HTML for optimal accessibility across devices.
Long-Term Archiving. Content is permanently archived through LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and the Internet Archive, safeguarding perpetual access.
Global Dissemination. Crossref membership means every article receives a DOI; content is discoverable through DOAJ, Google Scholar, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, BASE, Scilit, MIAR, EuroPub, ROAD, Ulrichsweb, Sherpa Romeo, EZB, WorldCat, and multiple library discovery layers.
Editorial Independence. Decisions are based solely on scientific merit, methodological quality, and ethical standards. The journal operates free from commercial influence and advertising.
International Standards. JMLPH follows the ICMJE recommendations, the COPE code of conduct, and the WAME guidelines.
User-friendly Submission Platform. Streamlined submission via OJS with regular status updates from initial submission to final publication.
Preparing Your Manuscript
Please review the dedicated Prepare Your Manuscript page for reporting-guideline requirements (CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA and the appropriate EQUATOR equivalent for your study design), ethics and consent statements, competing-interest and funding declarations, data availability statements, trial registration, and AI-use disclosure.
Manuscript Submission
Manuscripts must follow the ICMJE recommendations. Submissions must be original, not under consideration elsewhere, and formatted according to the checklist you will see at the start of the submission workflow. All human-subjects research must report ethics-committee approval and participant consent; identifying patient details require written release.
Corresponding authors should be prepared to provide the study's ethics approval reference, competing-interest declarations for all authors, and — where applicable — the clinical-trial registration number.
Editorial Standards & Integrity
For our full research-integrity policy — plagiarism screening, authorship and AI-use rules, competing interests, and data availability — please see the Research Integrity & Publication Ethics page.
