What is the Journal of Medicine, Law & Public Health?
JMLPH (ISSN Print 2788-9815, ISSN Online 2788-791X) is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, fully open-access journal published by ARETION Publishing Group, London, in partnership with the Research Centre at the Second Healthcare Cluster (R2), Riyadh.
Is JMLPH open access, and what licence applies?
Yes — every article is published open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence. Authors retain full copyright; JMLPH receives right of first publication only.
What subjects and article types does JMLPH accept?
Original research, systematic and narrative reviews, case reports, editorials, and policy analyses across medical law and ethics, public health policy, emergency and disaster medicine, digital health, reproductive medicine, antimicrobial resistance, nursing, occupational health, pain management, nutrition and NCDs, global health, and clinical specialties.
How does double-blind peer review work at JMLPH?
Every manuscript is evaluated by at least one national and one international expert. Author and reviewer identities are withheld from each other. Decisions rest solely on scientific merit, methodological quality, and ethical soundness.
What are the publication charges, and who is exempt?
A modest £70 article-processing charge applies to accepted articles. Authors from low-income and lower-middle-income countries (World Bank classification) are automatically exempt.
How long does review and publication take?
Initial assessment: 5–7 working days. Peer review: 3–4 weeks. Editorial decision: 1–2 weeks after reviews. Revision windows: 30–60 days.
Do authors retain copyright?
Yes. Authors retain full copyright; JMLPH receives right of first publication only, under CC BY 4.0.
Is JMLPH indexed, and where?

Does JMLPH require clinical-trial registration?
Yes — prospective clinical trials should be registered in a WHO ICTRP–compliant registry or ClinicalTrials.gov before enrolment; the registration number must be cited in the manuscript.
Does JMLPH require a data availability statement?
Yes — all research articles should include a data availability statement describing whether and how the underlying data can be accessed.
What is JMLPH's policy on using AI tools in manuscripts?
Any generative-AI use must be disclosed in the methods section. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authorship is limited to those who meet ICMJE criteria.
Which reporting checklists should I use?
Follow the EQUATOR Network guidance: CONSORT for randomised trials, STROBE for observational studies, PRISMA for systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and the appropriate equivalent for other designs.
Does open-access publishing in JMLPH meet my funder's mandate?
